Copacabana background

Copacabana

In this film, a cunning agent employs a clever scheme, having his only client assume dual identities as a sultry French chanteuse and a ravishing Brazilian bombshell, all in an effort to deceive a nightclub owner.

In the movie, a talent agent sells his girlfriend to the Copacabana nightclub as a Latin-American singer/dancer, then again with a wig and veil as a French singer, exploiting her image and leaving her worn out. The constant changes and lack of recognition lead to a heated argument with her fiancé and eventually, her disappearance sparks suspicion from the management and police.
