Bill Elliott stars as a Los Angeles sheriff's department detective in the fifth and final film of the Ben Schwab productions. The story begins with Henry Johnson being sought for the murder of his neighbor and friend, Fred Horner. Johnson's fiancée, Mary Raikin, is trailed by the police, leading to Johnson's capture. He claims he did not commit the crime, but fled in panic after discovering Horner's body. The investigation reveals a wealthy motel tenant, Bradbury, bears a resemblance to the deceased. The police set up Bradbury as a decoy, and the real killer, Pat Orvello, is caught after attempting to rob Bradbury.
