The film follows Carlo Roma, a fisherman living in San Francisco with his foster son Tony and friend Beppo, as their peaceful life is disrupted by the arrival of Carlo's sister-in-law Stella and her son Rudolph. The sudden presence of Rudolph leads Tony to feel unwanted and he ultimately runs away.
