Eighteen-year-old Geoffrey Wellum joins the Royal Air Force's 92 squadron in May 1940, where he's thrust into action as a Spitfire pilot with no prior experience. As he faces the Luftwaffe, his sense of duty overcomes fear, and he earns a medal for his role in the Battle of Britain. Despite his heroism, he struggles with the trauma of war, surviving 50 missions before breaking down in 1942.
