Melvin Byrd, a janitor at Cape Kennedy, dreams of being a scientist. He uses his inventive genius to keep a major rocket project spotless, often with humorous results. His work leads him to meet Judy, a chimpanzee involved in a top-secret project, which inadvertently takes him into a restricted area. There, he discovers a shocking secret: anyone who enters the room becomes negatively ionized, allowing them to fly like a bird.
