Among the few people unhappy about the British leaving India in 1947 are Anglo-Indians, who are half British and half Indian. They're concerned about losing their privileged status and job reservations. Victoria Jones, an Anglo-Indian woman, is torn between her loyalty to her community and her growing connection to a Sikh, Ranjit Singh Kassi. She witnesses a disturbing incident of British soldiers harassing Indian protesters and begins to question her allegiance. Meanwhile, she harbors a dark secret: she's involved in a murder and knows the identity of a terrorist planning to disrupt the railways. The terrorist's target is Mahatma Gandhi, who's among the passengers on the train.
