Nick and Nora return to San Francisco after their New York holiday, only to become embroiled in another mystery. On New Year's Eve, they attend a family dinner where they learn that Nora's cousin Selma's husband, Robert, has gone missing. Nick agrees to investigate, but the case takes a deadly turn when Robert is found shot and Selma is accused of murder. As the body count rises, Nick must gather all the suspects in one room to unmask the true killer.
