Aspiring artist Mark Hogancamp suffers a brutal assault, resulting in severe brain damage and memory loss. To cope, he creates a WWII-themed miniature village in his yard, Marwen, which becomes a tool for recovery. However, his progress is threatened when he's asked to testify against his attackers.
