The Woman in Red background

The Woman in Red

A wife's life takes a dramatic turn when she becomes the enigmatic figure at the center of a high-stakes murder trial set against the picturesque backdrop of Long Island's polo country.

Shelby Barrett, a show horse rider for a wealthy widow, meets Johnny Wyatt, a polo pony rider, and they get married despite efforts from the widow and a wealthy suitor to keep them apart. However, Shelby's in-laws are snobbish and broke, and her husband's family disapproves of her handling horses for wealthy neighbors with borrowed money. When a wealthy client is murdered on a yacht, Shelby is accused of being involved, but she clears her name by testifying as the "woman in red" witness. The question remains whether her husband will forgive her for her perceived wrongdoing.
