The Beloved Rogue

François Villon, France's most celebrated poet, was also known for his mischievous antics, occasional law-breaking, and strong national pride.

François Villon, a renowned poet and patriot, grows up after his father's martyrdom in 1432. He becomes a notorious carouser and resorts to criminal acts. After insulting Duke Charles of Burgundy on All Fools Day, Villon is banished from Paris by King Louis XI. In exile, he seeks ways to protect France from Burgundy's plots.
