In the San Joaquin Valley, a determined dairy farmer, Elizabeth James, operates her family's farm outside the dominant co-ops. She employs five rebellious ranch hands to help keep the farm afloat, but their carefree lifestyle leads to trouble. As the farm faces financial struggles, a rival co-op owner, Delbert Furgeson, tries to buy her out, sparking a feud between the two. The story follows the ranch hands, including brothers trying to find their way, aspiring musicians, and a young man seeking independence, as they navigate their own paths and Ms. Liz's fight to preserve her farm. Ultimately, the film is about finding purpose and holding onto what you believe in, even in the face of change and loss.
