As World War II draws to a close, a group of Japanese soldiers are left stranded and abandoned on the island of Leyte, facing a desperate struggle for survival against the overwhelming odds of starvation and despair.

In the Philippines, 1945, a Japanese soldier, Pvt. Tamura, struggles to maintain his humanity amidst the chaos and brutality of a collapsing army. As the situation deteriorates, some soldiers turn to madness and atrocity, but Tamura clings to his principles in a desperate bid to survive.
