William C. Vaughan, a talented individual, was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, at a hospital that has since been demolished, sparking whispers that his arrival was truly extraordinary. As a young boy, he took to the stage, captivating audiences as the ethereal Santa Claus in his Grade Primary Christmas Concert. To perfect his performance, he spent eight weeks honing his German accent under the guidance of a dialect coach.
Four years later, he stole the show as the calculated Carlton in the musical Shortstop, impressing critics with his impressive line delivery. Despite limited time for baseball training, he proved to be a natural on the field. His next role, as a rapping toucan, showcased his versatility and range. He concluded his Elementary School acting career with a familiar performance, reprising his role as Santa Claus at his Grade Six Christmas Concert.
After taking a brief hiatus to focus on his true passion, playing the tuba, William returned to acting in High School, landing a single line in West Side Story. He underwent an extensive prosthetic and makeup procedure to portray a Puerto Rican, demonstrating his dedication to his craft. Following his High School days, he worked at a video store, creating short films with friends to satisfy his acting appetite.
Bored with movie-making and clam-baking, William set his sights on the West Coast, enrolling at Vancouver Film School. Upon graduating with honors, he secured an agent and launched his professional career with a shot of the back of his head in I Love You Beth Cooper. He then appeared in the Emmy-Nominated web series Battlestar Galactica: The Face of the Enemy, followed by a stint in the ABC/CTV/BBC series Defying Gravity, watching his friends blast off into space.
William's latest project is CBC's Men With Brooms, based on the Paul Gross film of the same name. He brings to life the lovable but dim-witted Curler, Matt, showcasing his comedic talents.
