William Neal Harrison, an American novelist, short story writer, and screenwriter, was born on October 29, 1933. He is perhaps best known for writing the short story "Roller Ball Murder," which was adapted into the 1975 film "Rollerball."
Harrison's works include "Rollerball" and "Mountains of the Moon" (1991),both of which were turned into films. His novels are notable for being set in Africa, with five of them being set in the continent. His three volumes of short stories contain the majority of his 50 published stories, with many of them appearing in Esquire and the novel "Africana."
