Warwick Gilbert, a Sydney, Australia native born in 1950, embarked on a multifaceted career spanning nearly four decades. From 1968 to 2006, he worked as a director, animator, and storyboard artist for renowned animation companies such as Burbank Films, Hanna Barbera, and Walt Disney.
Concurrently, Warwick pursued a dual career as a graphic designer and musician. He played bass for several bands, including The Hitmen, The Raouls, Nitebeat, and Radio Birdman. The latter, inducted into the Aria Hall of Fame in 2007, showcased Warwick's musical talents.
Following the closure of Walt Disney's Australian studio in 2006, Warwick collaborated with his wife Julie Mostyn on a joint exhibition titled The Art of Radio Birdman in Sydney's Double Bay. This successful venture prompted the couple to relocate to Coffs Harbour, where Warwick could focus on his artistic pursuits.
