Vina Morales, born Sharon Garcia Magdayao on October 17, 1975, in Bogo, Cebu City, Philippines, is a renowned Filipina singer, actress, and model.
As a young girl of nine, Morales began her musical journey by singing with her church choir at the St. Vincent Ferrer Parish in Bogo. This early exposure to music led her to a career that would span decades. It was during this time that Father Fritz T. Malinao, a priest and songwriter, discovered Morales' exceptional talent and encouraged her to participate in the Cebu Pop Music Festival with his original composition, "Paglaum", which means "hope" in Cebuano language. This song won the Grand Prize and earned Morales the Best Interpreter Award for young talents in the Philippines.
Following her successful performance, representatives from Viva Films approached Morales with a singing and acting contract. She and her family relocated to Manila, where she auditioned for a career in the Philippine film industry. Morales subsequently changed her birth name to Vina Morales.
Vina Morales made her film debut in "Nakagapos na Puso", alongside Sharon Cuneta, and later appeared in "Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum" and "Anghel Na Walang Langit". She also starred in "The Sarah Balabagan Story".
Throughout her career, Morales has released albums and performed in live concerts across the Philippines. In 2004, she released her album "Mamahalin Ka Niya". She co-wrote the lyrics to the song "Paano Kaya Magtatagpo?" with Filipino model, actor, and musician Piolo Pascual, and the music was composed by Arnel de Pano. Morales and Pascual later recorded the song as a duet. Other tracks on the album include "Yakapin Mo Ako", "Pangako", and "Saan Darating ang Umaga".
In 2003, Morales embarked on a multi-city US tour titled "Vina Revealed" and "Vina's Hot".
