Person Biography:
Michael Peacocke was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but spent his formative years in Canada, holding dual citizenship of both countries. He received his undergraduate degree from Université de Caen, France, and later graduated magna cum laude from Yale University in 1983. Following his academic pursuits, Peacocke attended New York University Tisch School of the Arts between 1983 and 1984.
In his personal life, Peacocke married British citizen Amanda Pieris in the 2010s. His professional career in the Canadian television industry has been marked by numerous accomplishments, including directing episodes of various popular shows such as Madison, Cold Squad, Blue Murder, Traders, and Made in Canada.
Throughout his illustrious career, Peacocke has received numerous awards and nominations for his direction. He has won two Canadian Comedy Awards for Best Direction of a television series, as well as a Gemini Award for Best Direction in a Comedy Program. Peacocke has directed over 140 episodes of more than 25 television series, including Rookie Blue, Heartland, The Border, M.V.P., Rent-a-Goalie, Show Me Yours, The Eleventh Hour, Blue Murder, Mutant X, Made in Canada, Cold Squad, Amazon, Traders, North of 60, The Rez, Black Harbour, The Crow: Stairway to Heaven, Jake and the Kid, Madison, Beast Wars: Transformers, The Odyssey, and Schitt's Creek.
In addition to his directing work, Peacocke has also appeared as an actor in several episodes of Rent-a-Goalie, Traders, Madison, and Canada Russia '72, in which he portrayed the captain of the Soviet hockey team, Victor Kuzkin.
