Tomorowo Taguchi, a Japanese actor born on November 30, 1957, began his career path after leaving Dokkyo University without graduating. He initially earned his living by working as an illustrator, writer, and pornographic cartoonist.
In 1978, Taguchi joined a theatre called Hakken no Kai and made his screen debut in Zokubutsu Zukan, a film based on Yasutaka Tsutsui's book, in 1982. During the 1980s and early 1990s, he was a prominent cult musician in the Tokyo underground scene, performing with his band Bachikaburi.
Taguchi is likely most well-known in the West for his role as the lead actor in Tetsuo and Tetsuo II, directed by Shinya Tsukamoto. He has also made numerous appearances in films directed by Takashi Miike. In Japan, he gained recognition as the narrator for the TV documentary series Project X - Challengers, which aired on NHK from 2000 to 2005.
In addition to his acting career, Taguchi has also ventured into film direction. He directed Iden & Tity in 2003 and is scheduled to release his second film, Shikisoku Generation, in 2009.
