Timothy Julian Brooke-Taylor OBE was a renowned English actor and comedian, most notably recognized for his association with The Goodies.
His journey in comedy sketches began while he was a student at the University of Cambridge, where he became an active performer and eventually held the esteemed position of president of the Footlights. In 1964, he embarked on an international tour with the Footlights revue.
As his fame grew, Brooke-Taylor transitioned to radio, becoming a prominent figure on BBC Radio with the hit show I'm Sorry, I'll Read That Again. He then ventured into television, collaborating with old Cambridge friends John Cleese and Graham Chapman on At Last the 1948 Show.
Brooke-Taylor's most iconic role was as a member of the beloved comedy trio The Goodies, alongside Graeme Garden and Bill Oddie, from 1970 to 1982. The show garnered international recognition in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.
Throughout his illustrious career, Brooke-Taylor appeared in various sitcoms and served as a panellist on BBC Radio's I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue for nearly five decades.
