Tabrett Bethell, born in May 1981, is a talented Australian actress, television personality, and theater performer, best recognized for her captivating portrayal of Cara in the television series Legend of the Seeker. Prior to her illustrious acting career, Bethell ventured into the world of fashion modeling at the tender age of 16, subsequently becoming a cheerleader for the National Rugby League (NRL) Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.
Before dedicating herself to acting, Bethell underwent rigorous training at Screenwise, completing the 12 Month Intensive program in December 2007. Throughout her training, she continued to model, with a notable appearance on the cover of The Daily Telegraph in February 2007, sporting a Neill Grigg race day fascinator resembling the Harbour Bridge.
Bethell's early acting endeavors included starring roles in Campbell Graham's film Anyone You Want, as Amy, and Chris in Strangers Lovers Killers. From 2009 to 2010, she immersed herself in the world of television, filming Legend of the Seeker, a series based on Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series. Her captivating performance as Mord-Sith named Cara Mason earned her a large fan following and widespread recognition.
Following her stint on Legend of the Seeker, Bethell appeared in James Rabbitts's 2010 Australian thriller The Clinic, playing the role of Beth, and won the Best Actress award at the Manhattan Film Festival for her role in Anyone You Want. In March 2011, Bethell was cast in a Warner Bros TV pilot "Poe" as Sarah Elmira Royster, Edgar Allan Poe's muse and former lover. Although the series was not picked up by ABC, Bethell's impressive acting skills continued to garner attention.
Bethell's personal life is just as fascinating as her professional career. Born after her parents disagreed on a name, Bethell is named after a street in Sydney, Tabrett Street. Her father, after a drive, returned to the hospital with the name, which her mother accepted. Bethell's favorite music artist is Young Eman, whom she admires for his ambition. She is also close friends with her Legend of the Seeker cast-mate, Bridget Regan, and actor/producer Debbie Tsamoudakis.
