Shirley, a native of Pawcatuck, Connecticut, embarked on a journey that would take her to the bustling streets of New York City following her graduation from the University of Connecticut, where she proudly cheered on the Huskies.
In the city that never sleeps, Shirley pursued a variety of unconventional occupations, including waiting tables at the iconic Empire State Building, serving as a receptionist at 20th Century Fox, and working as a cocktail waitress at the legendary disco club, Visage.
