Sergey Vladimirovich Shnurov, a Russian musician and songwriter, was born on April 13, 1973. He is widely recognized as Shnur, the founder and former frontman of the influential ska-punk band Leningrad, which he established in 1997 and led until its disbandment in 2008.
Following the dissolution of Leningrad, Shnur collaborated with some of its former members to form the band Rubl in December 2008. Notably, three of Shnur's songs were featured on the soundtrack of the critically acclaimed film Everything Is Illuminated, including the immensely popular track Дикий Мужчина, or "Wild Man".
Throughout his career, Shnurov has also composed music for various films, including the Russian cult classic Boomer and its sequel. Furthermore, his personal life is marked by his daughter, Siham, who resides in France and has developed a passion for drumming and songwriting, just like her father.
