William Scott Scurlock, professionally known as Scott Scurlock, was born on March 5, 1955, in Fairfax County, Virginia. As the son of a minister, he was raised with strong moral principles. However, his life took a dramatic turn when he adopted the persona of the "Hollywood Bandit" or simply "Hollywood" due to his involvement in a series of daring bank robberies in the Seattle area during the 1990s.
Utilizing his expertise in Hollywood-quality makeup and disguises, Scurlock successfully robbed 17 banks, leaving a trail of astonishment in his wake. His escapades earned him a reputation as a cunning and elusive criminal.
Despite his impressive criminal record, Scurlock's final attempt at bank robbery ended in a chaotic police shootout. While he managed to escape the scene, his two accomplices were apprehended, and one ultimately betrayed his trust by revealing his whereabouts to the authorities.
With FBI agents closing in, Scurlock took matters into his own hands and tragically took his own life via a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The incident occurred while he was being held up in a trailer, with agents having surrounded the location and repeatedly urging him to surrender.
