Sara Lindsey was born in Washington, D.C. and spent her childhood in Ellicott City, Maryland, where she was the youngest of four children and the only daughter of two physicians.
From an early age, Sara demonstrated a keen interest in the performing arts, which began with her participation in a first-grade play adaptation of Shel Silverstein's A Light in the Attic.
Throughout her elementary and middle school years, Sara continued to nurture her passion for acting, performing in various shows at professional theaters in the area.
In addition to her acting pursuits, Sara was also an exceptionally talented musician, who began playing instruments and singing at school and in choirs.
As she honed her skills, Sara became an accomplished oboe player, serving as the principal oboist in the Peabody Preparatory Sinfonietta in Baltimore, Maryland, for several years.
Furthermore, Sara was a member of the Maryland All-State Choir for six consecutive years, showcasing her exceptional vocal talents.
Throughout her high school years, Sara remained committed to her craft, acting in numerous plays and musicals, which ultimately led her to pursue a degree in drama at Carnegie Mellon University.
Upon graduating with a BFA in 2011, Sara booked her first film role in the J.J. Abrams thriller Super 8, and subsequently relocated to Los Angeles to pursue more film and television opportunities.
Within a year of graduating, Sara secured roles in four other feature films: Won't Back Down, Fun Size, Jack Reacher, and Promised Land, starring alongside Matt Damon and Frances McDormand.
Today, Sara resides in Los Angeles with her loyal canine companion, Max.
