Rod Ball was born in Miami, Florida in 1965, marking the beginning of a life that would be filled with a passion for the performing arts. His professional acting career commenced with a small role in the biopic "Lenny", directed by the renowned Bob Fosse and starring Dustin Hoffman as the titular character. This early experience was followed by a significant role in "The Island", a film starring the esteemed Michael Caine, which earned him membership in the prestigious Screen Actors Guild, now known as SAG-AFTRA. Throughout his career, Rod has served on the Local Board of this union for numerous years.
Prior to embarking on his acting journey, Rod attended the University of Miami, where he studied Business Management, as well as film directing and theater, for two years before transferring to and graduating from the University of Colorado (Boulder) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management.
Throughout his career, Rod has amassed an impressive body of work, dividing his time between South Florida and Los Angeles. In addition to the numerous films and television shows listed here, his credits include over 50 commercials, numerous corporate and industry videos, voice overs, and the occasional stage play.
As Rod continues to build his portfolio, he is also actively working on several projects. In recent years, he launched Principio Productions, LLC, an independent film production company, and has written several screenplays, which he hopes to bring to life in his beloved hometown of Miami.
