Person Biography:
Peters was born in Sabon Gari, Kaduna, Northern Nigeria, as the second of eight children to Lawrence Adagba and Comfort Peters. His Afemai descent hails from Ososo in the Akoko Edo local government area of Edo State.
Peters' educational background includes attending St. Gregory Primary School in Kaduna, and later studying Geology and Mining at the University of Jos, Nigeria. He began his acting career in Nigeria, starring in the 1998 movie Mama Sunday and the 2002 daytime series Everyday People. In 2004, he relocated to the US, where he earned a certificate degree in Visual Storytelling from New York University and received on-the-job training on film sets across the US.
Peters transitioned to working as a cinematographer and film editor in 2006, taking on projects for African-American productions. He later directed the comedy film 30 Days in Atlanta, which became the highest-grossing film in Nigerian box office history and was featured in the 2017 Guinness Book of Records.
In his personal life, Peters is married to Deborah Peters and they have a son, Zachary Lawrence Onafa-Orafa Peters. Together, they own and run Whitestone Pictures LLC, a film production studio and equipment provider based in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
