Richard Van Vleet, also credited as Richard Van Fleet or Rick Van Vleet, is a multifaceted American entertainment professional with a diverse range of skills, including acting, producing, screenwriting, and directing.
From 1975 to 1984, and again from 1989 to 1992, and in 1995 and 2005, he portrayed the role of Dr. Chuck Tyler on the popular soap opera All My Children. Additionally, he played the character of Dr. Ed Bauer on Guiding Light from 1984 to 1986.
Prior to his soap opera roles, Van Vleet had a string of guest appearances on various prime-time television series during the late 1960s and early 1970s, including Mannix, Cannon, Marcus Welby, M.D., McCloud, Adam-12, Dragnet, The Virginian, and Ironside.
In his early career, he appeared in several films, including Airport, Angel in My Pocket, and Ben, although his role in Airport was uncredited. More recently, Van Vleet has shifted his focus to behind-the-scenes work, producing Bikini Planet in 2002 and writing and directing Retribution in 1998.
As a writer-director, Van Vleet has also been involved in the creation of films such as Bikini Planet, Retribution, and Trailer Trash. In 2008, he proposed and directed Ryan and Sean's Not So Excellent Adventure, a project featuring YouTube personalities Ryan Higa and Sean Fujiyoshi.
