Richard Meek was born on June 15, 1982, in King's Lynn, Norfolk, England. He developed an early interest in drama through amateur theatricals at his local theatre. At the age of 16, he left home to study drama at the College of West Anglia, where he earned GCSE, A Level, and HND qualifications in dance, drama, and singing.
After completing his studies, Richard moved to London to join the London School of Musical Theatre, graduating with distinction a year later. His first professional role was as the Mikado in the London Fringe production of The Hot Mikado, which received rave reviews and was Time Out Critics' Choice.
Richard then spent some time doing modeling work before returning to theatre in September 2004. He played the lead vocalist in the UK tour of Give My Regards to Broadway and later appeared in the original pantomime Sleeping Beauty at the Lichfield Garrick, where he played Prince Claude.
In 2006, Richard was involved in the tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, playing the roles of Judah, the One More Angel in Heaven soloist, the gospel soloist in Go Go Go Joseph, and the Apache dancer in Those Canaan Days. He was later asked to audition for the role of alternate Joseph and eventually took over as principal Joseph for three weeks.
Richard then joined the UK tour of The Rocky Horror Show in 2007, playing the role of Brad Majors. He understudied Frank N. Furter but never went on in the role. In 2015, he joined the cast of The Rocky Horror Show Live, playing the dual roles of Eddie and Dr. Everett Von Scott. He rejoined the cast in 2016, initially playing Eddie / Dr. Scott and later switching to play Brad Majors until the close of the tour.
Throughout his career, Richard has received great reviews and has appeared in various productions, including The Hot Mikado, Give My Regards to Broadway, Sleeping Beauty, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and The Rocky Horror Show.
