Richard Berry, born Richard Élie Benguigui on July 31, 1950, is a multifaceted French artist, effortlessly transitioning between roles as an actor, film director, and screenwriter.
Throughout his illustrious career, spanning over four decades, Berry has appeared in more than 100 films since his debut in 1972. One of his most notable roles was in the 1994 film "The Violin Player," which premiered at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
Berry's personal life is just as captivating as his professional endeavors. He has two daughters, Coline and Joséphine, from his relationships with actresses Catherine Hiegel and Jessica Forde, respectively. His marriage to singer and actress Jeane Manson in 1984, however, was short-lived, ending in divorce just two years later.
In 2009, Berry entered into a relationship with actress Pascale Louange, with whom he shares a daughter born in 2014. Prior to this, he made headlines in 2005 for his selfless act of donating one of his kidneys to his sister Marie Berry, who suffers from Alport syndrome, a genetic kidney disease.
Berry's family is also home to a talented sculptor, his brother Philippe, who is married to actress Josiane Balasko. However, in 2021, a shocking revelation was made public when Berry's daughter Coline filed a complaint with Paris prosecutors, alleging incest and sexual abuse by her father. Berry responded on his Instagram account, stating that Coline had made the initial allegation seven years prior, during a violent outburst and subsequent email.
