Richard Albiston was born in Rugby, Warwickshire in 1989, but he spent his childhood and formative years in Lancashire, where he received his primary and secondary education. He went on to pursue higher education at the University of Central Lancashire, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree and a Master's degree.
In his early career, Albiston worked as the Director of Development for Menahem Golan, a renowned filmmaker and former Chairman of The Cannon Group Inc. During his tenure, he wrote an original screenplay under Golan's guidance, titled Allan Quatermain and the Jewel of the East, which served as a sequel to the earlier films King Solomon's Mines (1985) and Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold (1986),starring Richard Chamberlain and Sharon Stone. His other screenplay projects included The Return of the Delta Force, American Ninja Apprentice, and the long-gestating supernatural thriller The Golem, all of which were collaborative efforts with Golan.
Following his work with Golan, Albiston went on to act in various capacities for Ovidio G. Assonitis, serving as the head of production for his motion picture operations and managing AONE Highway Film Investments. He was responsible for managing Assonitis' catalog of motion pictures for the United Kingdom and selected territories, many of which have since become 'cult classics.'
From 2016 to 2020, Albiston sat on the creative board of The Great Northern Creative Festival/Expo as Creative Producer, where he oversaw the 'Expo Education' arm, aiming to encourage school-aged children to pursue further studies in the creative arts. He co-wrote, produced, and directed the independent feature film Something Evil, Something Dangerous: New Moon Rising (2011),which received a limited theatrical release in the UK and enjoyed greater success on DVD.
Albiston also served as the associate producer on the British thriller Bastion (2016) and produced The Great Northern Creative Show (2017),a syndicated magazine show accompanying the 2017 edition of The Great Northern Creative Festival. He co-wrote the horror sequel Embryo: Beyond the Door with Ovidio G. Assonitis and is currently pursuing his PhD in Film Development & Distribution at Lancaster University in England.
