Rémi Laurent was a French actor born on October 12, 1957, in Suresnes, France. He was raised in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, the son of a nursery nurse and an agricultural engineer. As a child, Laurent developed a passion for music, learning to play the piano at a young age.
However, his interests shifted towards comedic acting during his adolescence, and he began pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. His acting debut came in 1976 with the film À nous les petites Anglaises, followed by appearances in numerous popular French films throughout the late 1970s and 1980s.
Laurent's most notable roles include his portrayal of Laurent, the son of Renato Baldi (played by Ugo Tognazzi),in the 1978 film La Cage aux Folles. He also appeared in the québécois film The Plouffe Family (Les Plouffe),directed by Gilles Carle, as Denis Boucher.
In his personal life, Laurent was romantically involved with actress Anne Caudry, who tragically passed away from HIV in 1991. He later married Emöke Masznyik, a young Hungarian dancer and mime.
Sadly, Rémi Laurent's life was cut short due to an HIV-related illness, and he passed away on November 14, 1989. He is buried at Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule.
