Biography

As I reflect on my journey, I recall being introduced to the captivating world of astronomy through The Sky at Night, a program that has had a profound impact on my life, even during my school days.

I was incredibly fortunate to attend a school that possessed not only a large telescope but also teachers who were daring and courageous enough to entrust the keys to my friends and me. This access to the telescope further ignited my passion for the subject, ultimately leading me to pursue a degree in Natural Sciences at Magdalene College, Cambridge, followed by a PhD in the chemistry of star formation at University College London.

Around the time I began my PhD, I was approached by The Sky at Night team to join their ranks as a researcher, which later evolved into a role as a reporter and co-presenter. Currently, my primary occupation is as a researcher at the University of Oxford, where my research focuses on recruiting a diverse group of individuals to contribute to various astronomical tasks, such as discovering supernovae or classifying galaxies.

One of the most anticipated events of every month is the trip to film the program, during which I get to share my enthusiasm for comets, cosmology, or other celestial phenomena that are currently captivating the scientific community.
