Phyllis Anne Love, a talented actress, was born on December 21, 1925, in Des Moines, Iowa, a city located in the Midwestern United States. She shared a close friendship with Cloris Leachman, a renowned actress, while attending Roosevelt High School in Des Moines.
Following her high school education, Love pursued her passion for acting by participating in various local and regional drama productions. Her interest in the performing arts led her to enroll in the prestigious Actors Studio in New York in 1948. This marked the beginning of her journey in the world of acting.
Love's film debut was a small role as a juvenile delinquent in the 1950 movie So Young So Bad, which starred Paul Henreid and Rita Moreno. Her most notable film role was as "Mattie Birdwell" in William Wyler's Friendly Persuasion, released in 1956.
Throughout the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, Love made numerous guest appearances on television programs. However, she achieved her greatest success on the Broadway stage, appearing in eight shows during her career. In 1951, she won the New York Charles Derwent Award for Best Featured Actress for her portrayal of "Rosa Delle Rosa" in the original production of "The Rose Tattoo".
After retiring from acting in the early 1970s, Love changed her first name to "Osanna". Sadly, she passed away on October 30, 2011, in Menifee, California, due to complications from Alzheimer's disease.
