Paul Thomas Wasilewski, professionally known as Paul Wesley, is a multi-talented American actor, writer, director, and producer, who has honed his skills in speaking two languages - English and Polish. This linguistic proficiency stems from his annual four-month visits to Poland until the age of 16.
Wesley's television career began with a stint on the now-defunct NBC soap, Another World, where he portrayed the character of Sean McKinnon. In 2001, he appeared as one of the main cast members of the short-lived CBS television series Wolf Lake, taking on the role of Luke Cates.
Throughout his career, Wesley has had a diverse range of roles in various television shows, including 24, 8 Simple Rules, American Dreams, Army Wives, Cane, Everwood, Guiding Light, Smallville, and The O.C.. He is, however, most notably recognized for his portrayal of Stefan Salvatore in the supernatural drama series The Vampire Diaries, as well as his role as James T. Kirk in the Paramount+ original series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
In addition to his television work, Wesley has also appeared in a variety of films. He starred in the 2008 CBS television film The Russell Girl and had the lead role in the 2007 ABC Family miniseries Fallen and its sequels.
