Pat Finn, one of six children, was born in Evanston, Illinois and spent his formative years in Wilmette, Illinois. He attended high school at the prestigious Loyola Academy in Wilmette before graduating from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1987. Following his academic pursuits, Finn relocated to Chicago, where he initially worked as a beer salesman before joining The Second City National Touring Company. Concurrently, he honed his improvisational skills with the ImprovOlympic in Chicago.
Finn's professional career took off after he wrote and performed in two Second City resident shows, ultimately landing the part of George Wendt's younger brother in The George Wendt Show. He has also had recurring roles on several television series, including Murphy Brown, 3rd Rock from the Sun, and Ed. His extensive television credits also include appearances on Friends, Seinfeld, The Drew Carey Show, That '70s Show, According to Jim, Less than Perfect, The King of Queens, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Las Vegas.
In addition to his television work, Finn has also had commercial success with numerous campaigns for prominent brands such as Got Milk?, Sony PlayStation, DiGiorno Pizza, Holiday Inn, H&R Block, BellSouth, and Toyota. He is also a talented improviser and regularly performs with his improv group Beer Shark Mice, which is based at the IO West theatre in Los Angeles.
The cast of Beer Shark Mice includes veteran comedians Mike Coleman, Neil Flynn, Pete Hulne, David Koechner, and Paul Vaillancourt, and many of their performances are based on suggestions from the attending audience. Finn is married with three children and currently resides in Los Angeles.
Interestingly, Finn is an alumnus of Marquette University and The Second City, and he graduated in the same class as notable comedians Joel Murray, Chris Farley, and Tim Meadows. He also starred on the Nickelodeon series Marvin Marvin from November 24, 2012 to April 27, 2013.
