Cornell Haynes, Jr., professionally known as Nelly, is a renowned American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Born on November 2, 1974, he has been active in the music industry since the early 1990s, initially performing with the rap group St. Lunatics.
Nelly's solo career took off in 2000 with the release of his debut album Country Grammar, which debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 chart and eventually peaked at number one. The album has been certified quadruple-platinum, selling over 8.4 million copies in the United States.
He continued to achieve massive success with his subsequent albums, including Nellyville, Sweat, and Suit, which spawned numerous chart-topping hits.
