Miwa Kawagoe, a renowned Japanese pop singer, actress, and former member of the iconic gravure group Momoco Club, was born in 1950.
Kawagoe Miwa embarked on her illustrious career as a pop idol singer on October 1988, releasing her debut single "Looking at You". Her subsequent fourth single, "Yume Dake Miteru", earned her the prestigious Rookie of the Year award at the 31st Annual Nihon Record Taishou.
In addition to her singing career, Kawagoe Miwa made her debut as a variety show talent and actress in the early 1980s, starring in her first drama, "Jiken desu yo Heisei Gannen".
During the 1990s, Kawagoe Miwa briefly adopted the stage name Hatause Kaoru, while continuing to work on various television dramas and films.
