Mimi Chakraborty is a talented Bengali film and television actress who gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of the female lead, "Pupe", in the mega serial Gaaner Oparey. Prior to her acting career, she briefly worked as a model and even participated in the prestigious Femina Miss India pageant.
Mimi made her soap acting debut with Champion, followed by her second project, Gaaner Oparey, a TV serial produced by Ideas Creations and aired on Star Jalsha from June 28, 2010, to April 16, 2011. The serial was a tribute to the 150th birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, with notable personalities from the film industry, including Rituparno Ghosh and Debojyoti Mishra, involved in the project.
Mimi's debut film, Bapi Bari Jaa, was released on December 7, 2012. Her upcoming projects include Mini (2022),Khela Jawkhon (2022),and the Hindi remake of Posto.
In addition to her successful acting career, Mimi has also made a mark in politics. She was listed as the most desirable woman in the Calcutta Times list of Most Desirable Women in 2016 and 2020.
