Michael Sacks, an American actor and tech executive, was born on September 11, 1948. He is best known for his role as Billy Pilgrim in the 1979 film adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut's novel Slaughterhouse-Five, directed by George Roy Hill.
In addition to his work in film, Sacks has also appeared in several other notable productions, including Steven Spielberg's The Sugarland Express, The Amityville Horror, and Hanover Street, alongside Harrison Ford. On Broadway, he played the role of Mark, a bewildered Viet Nam vet, in Kennedy's Children, a play written by Robert Patrick.
After retiring from the entertainment industry in 1984, Sacks went on to pursue a successful career in technology. He held various positions on Wall Street, including head of global applications development at MarketAxess, which he joined in 2004.
Prior to his work at MarketAxess, Sacks was employed by Morgan Stanley from 1994 to 2004, where he served as executive director, global head of bond technology for the fixed income division. He also held positions at Salomon Brothers, Inc. and IBM Research Division.
Sacks holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Relations from Harvard College and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Columbia University.
