Memo's Bio: A Life of Multifaceted Pursuits and Collaborative Creations
Memo's artistic journey began in their hometown of Miami, where they studied Visual and Performing Arts with a passion for exploration and experimentation. Their path has been shaped by involvement with esteemed organizations such as Nettles Artists Collective, La MaMa ETC, and HaitiDansCo, allowing them to hone their craft and develop a unique toolset influenced by diverse disciplines.
This eclectic toolset, forged through experiences in African dance, Suzuki, Sculpture, Photography, Viewpoints, technology, writing, Film Art Direction, and more, enables Memo to traverse a wide spectrum of creative endeavors. With a penchant for collaboration, they seek opportunities to merge artistic disciplines and push the boundaries of experimental and mixed media projects.
As their artistic pursuits evolved, Memo relocated to New York City in 2002, where they took on a variety of gigs, including sculpting for iconic Holiday Windows, providing voice-over work for the National Guard, and filing folders labeled "Mesothelioma" for a prominent law firm. These experiences, along with appearances on Law and Order SVU and other projects, have honed their adaptability and creativity.
In addition to their artistic endeavors, Memo has also worked as an educator with various communities, including underprivileged immigrant children in South Florida and students on the Autism Spectrum in NYC. This experience has deepened their understanding of the importance of inclusive and accessible art-making.
Now, as a "multi-coastal" individual, Memo is poised to take on new challenges as an actor, writer, and producer, bringing their unique blend of artistic expertise and collaborative spirit to a wide range of projects.
