Maurice Chevit, a renowned French actor, was born on October 31, 1923, and passed away on July 2, 2012. He began his theatrical career shortly after World War II, making his screen debut in 1946 in René Clément's film Le Père tranquille.
In August 1950, the Theatre de la Huchette in Paris premiered Pepita ou Cinq cents francs de bonheur, a three-act comedy co-written by Chevit and Henri Fontenille, in which Chevit himself starred alongside Jacqueline Maillan, Pierre Mondy, and Jacques Jouanneau.
