Marcos Arriaga, a talented filmmaker, hails from Lima, Peru, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Communications from San Martin de Porras University in the year 1985. Prior to his relocation to Canada in 1987, he pursued a career as a journalist, utilizing his strong communication skills to share compelling stories with the public.
After making the significant move to Canada, Arriaga furthered his education by enrolling in Sheridan College's esteemed Media Arts Film Program. His academic achievements did not stop there, as he went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree in Film Production from York University. This impressive educational background has undoubtedly played a crucial role in shaping his unique filmmaking style and approach.
Currently, Arriaga serves as a film technician within the Department of Cinema and Media Arts at York University, where he is able to utilize his expertise to contribute to the growth and development of the film industry. When not working on his latest project, Arriaga resides in Toronto, Canada, where he continues to be an active and influential figure in the world of film.
Throughout his illustrious career, Arriaga has demonstrated a keen affinity for experimenting with various film formats, often incorporating Super 8 and 16mm techniques into his work.
