Luke Islam burst onto the national scene in 2019 when he competed on Season 14 of NBC's hit televised talent show competition, "America's Got Talent." His captivating performance of "She Used to Be Mine" from the Broadway musical Waitress left a lasting impression on judge Julianne Hough, who was so impressed that she pressed the Golden Buzzer, propelling him straight to the Quarterfinals and sending him viral.
Although he was eliminated from the semifinals of America's Got Talent, Luke's talent and charisma did not go unnoticed, and he was invited back to compete on Season 2 of the show's spin-off, "America's Got Talent: The Champions." The show premiered on NBC in January 2020.
Following his success on AGT, Islam made his professional acting debut in the series regular role of Jaden 'Koob' Koobler on the sports comedy-drama television series, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers. The series premiered on Disney+ on March 26, 2021, and was later renewed for a second season, which premiered on September 28, 2022.
In addition to his television work, Islam starred in the coming-of-age comedy-drama film, 13: The Musical. After principal photography was completed in the summer of 2021, the movie spent a year in post-production before premiering on Netflix in August 2022.
In November 2022, Islam made his solo performance debut at NYC's iconic 54 Below, where he sold out his first concert. He was later invited back to perform an encore show the following month.
Most recently, Islam played the supporting role of Christopher L in the critics' pick mockumentary comedy film, Theater Camp. The film premiered in competition at Sundance Film Festival 2023 and was later distributed nationwide to over 500 select theaters by Searchlight Pictures on July 14, 2023, grossing almost $3,000,000 at the box office.
When not busy filming, Luke lends his talents in support of various charitable organizations, including UNICEF, the Entertainment Community Fund, and You Gotta Believe. In his free time, he loves to attend Broadway shows as an audience member.
