Lucas Jade Zumann, a talented individual, was born into a Jewish family and had a strong foundation in his early years, attending Hebrew school and later transferring to the Chicago Waldorf School in fifth grade, where he spent two years before returning for his senior year at Waters Elementary School.
His journey in the entertainment industry began when he was discovered by Paskal Rudnicke at a Disney talent search casting call in Chicago. Zumann's first foray into acting was as an ensemble member in the musical "Oliver!" at the Music Theater Works in his hometown, showcasing his skills on stage.
He further honed his craft with a small role in the Netflix series Sense8, playing a punk, and eventually landed his first major role as Milo in the horror film Sinister 2. His breakthrough performance came when he portrayed Jamie Fields in the Academy Award-nominated film 20th Century Women, alongside an impressive ensemble cast, including Elle Fanning, Billy Crudup, Greta Gerwig, and Annette Bening.
In 2016, Zumann appeared in an episode of the television series Chicago Fire, further expanding his repertoire. He gained international recognition for his portrayal of Gilbert Blythe in the Canadian television series Anne with an E, which premiered on CBC and Netflix in 2017.
In 2018, Zumann starred as Nathan Daldry/A in the teen romantic comedy film Every Day, and was also cast in the films Dr. Bird's Advice for Sad Poets and To The Stars that same year.
