Liz Flahive, a highly accomplished individual, earned her degree from the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts Department of Dramatic Writing at New York University. Her inaugural play, "From Up Here", was a resounding success, receiving nominations for both the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for Best Play, and ultimately winning the coveted John Gassner Award for Playwriting.
Throughout her career, Flahive's plays have been showcased and developed at esteemed institutions such as the Williamstown Theatre Festival, Naked Angels, Manhattan Theater Club, and Ars Nova. Her work has garnered significant attention, with commissions currently underway from Manhattan Theater Club and The Keen Company.
In addition to her impressive professional endeavors, Flahive is a dedicated volunteer with the 52nd Street Project, a remarkable organization that empowers inner-city youth to create original theater productions. Her commitment to the arts is further exemplified through her role as a founding member of the Ars Nova Play Group.
Flahive's versatility is evident in her current work as a writer for the popular Showtime original series, Nurse Jackie, solidifying her position as a talented and prolific creator in the entertainment industry.
