Linda Shayne, a dual American-Canadian citizen, boasts an impressive career spanning multiple disciplines. Her educational background includes graduating from the University of California, Berkeley. Shayne's professional journey began with work in mental hospitals, followed by writing articles about San Quentin Prison ex-offenders. Her writing and directing skills eventually led her to the film and television industry.
Shayne has written movies for prominent studios such as IMAGINE, SHOWTIME, and DISNEY, as well as directing for PARAMOUNT, NICKELODEON, and WARNER BROS. Recently, she wrote and directed a documentary about a Thai transwoman billionaire. Her work has taken her to create a dramedy TV series for Quincy Jones and QDE, two animated TV series for WARNER BROS., and in 2022, she created a dramedy TV series to be filmed in Asia.
As an award-winning writer-director, Shayne has received numerous accolades. Her screenplay for her newest crime thriller won the Best Feature Screenplay award at the Florence Film Awards in 2022, as well as the Best Thriller award at HRIFF 2022. She also won a Best Director award at the Freedom Festival in 2019 and was a Top 10 Feature Screenplay Finalist at CINEQUEST 2020.
Shayne developed a dramatic film for Muse Entertainment of Montreal and X-Filme of Germany and wrote a romantic comedy for Patriot Entertainment of Los Angeles. Her notable directorial works include Purple People Eater, which earned actress Thora Birch a Youth in Film Award, and Undercover Kid, released by WARNER BROS. and aired on HBO Family. She also directed Little Ghost for Kushner-Locke, released by PARAMOUNT.
Shayne's writing skills have earned her a TELLY Award for her work on the Hard Hat Harry kids' series, and she recently wrote a children's book illustrated by Emmy Award-winning animator Art Leonardi. Additionally, she wrote the English translation of Dord Krstic's non-fiction book, "Mileva and Albert Einstein: Their Love and Scientific Collaboration," which is sold at the Einstein Museum House in Switzerland.
