Leon Greene, born Lenard George Green on July 15, 1931, was a multifaceted English artist, renowned for his exceptional skills as a bass and an actor.
Throughout his illustrious career, Greene was affiliated with two esteemed institutions: the D'Oyly Carte Company and the Sadler's Wells Opera. His impressive repertoire included starring roles in numerous West End musicals.
One of his most notable achievements was his portrayal of Miles Gloriosus in the original London production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. This iconic role was revisited in the 1966 film adaptation, where Greene once again brought his character to life.
