Leland Palmer, born June 16, 1945, in Port Washington, New York, is a talented American actress, dancer, and singer. Her impressive career has spanned multiple mediums, including stage, motion pictures, and television.
On Broadway, Palmer has had the opportunity to shine in various productions, including Bajour, A Joyful Noise, Hello, Dolly!, Applause, and Pippin. Her notable performances have earned her two Tony Award nominations: one in 1967 for featured actress in a musical for her role as Miss Jimmie in A Joyful Noise, and another in 1973 for actress in a musical for her portrayal of Fastrada in Pippin.
Palmer's television appearances are equally impressive, with guest roles on popular shows such as Love, American Style; Laverne & Shirley; and Rhoda. She also had a regular spot on Dinah Shore's summer variety television show, Dinah and Her New Best Friends, in 1976.
However, it is her role in Bob Fosse's All That Jazz (1979) that has cemented her place in the hearts of motion-picture audiences. In this film, Palmer played the role of Audrey Paris, a character believed to be modeled after Fosse's wife, Gwen Verdon.
Today, Palmer is known as Linda Posner and has transitioned out of performing. Instead, she dedicates her time to working with community theatres in California. Her most recent endeavor was serving as the choreographer for 42nd Street Moon-San Francisco's production of Irma La Douce.
