Keyshia Myeshia Cole, an American singer, songwriter, and television personality, was born on October 15, 1981. At the tender age of 15, she made the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles, a move that would eventually lead to her introduction to A&M Records. The label would later become instrumental in shaping her music career.
In 2005, Cole released her debut album, The Way It Is, which would go on to achieve impressive commercial success. The album was certified gold within a remarkable 17 weeks, and then platinum just eight weeks later. Its chart-topping performance continued for over a year, with sales exceeding 1.6 million copies.
When A&M Records eventually folded, Cole transitioned to Geffen Records and released her sophomore album, Just Like You, in 2007. The album received a prestigious nomination for Best Contemporary R&B Album at the 50th Grammy Awards. Furthermore, it has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America and has sold an impressive 1.7 million copies in the United States alone.
In addition to her thriving music career, Cole has also ventured into the world of reality television. She signed on to star in the reality/documentary series Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is, which aired on BET from 2006 to 2008. The show provided viewers with an intimate look into Cole's career and family life, including her relationships with her biological mother and sister.
Cole's second reality television series, Family First, premiered in 2012, offering audiences a glimpse into her personal life. Her third reality show, Keyshia Cole: All In, debuted in 2015, further cementing her status as a television personality.
