Kenny Alfonso, a talented individual born on August 5th, shares his birthday with the legendary Bruce Lee and Jimi Hendrix. This coincidence did not intimidate the young Spanish kid, instead, it ignited a fierce ambition within him. Growing up in Tampa, Florida, Kenny spent most of his childhood playing baseball on local fields, following his father and older brother, and secretly dreaming of becoming a Kung Fu-Rock Star.
After a brief stint in minor league baseball camps, Kenny pursued alternative careers as a State Attorney's Investigator and Pharmaceutical Representative before deciding to dedicate himself to acting full-time in 1994.
Kenny's impressive filmography includes appearances in "The Bay" directed by Barry Levinson, "Trouble with the Curve" starring Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams, and Justin Timberlake, "The Hot Flashes" featuring Brooke Shields, Virginia Madsen, Wanda Sykes, Daryl Hannah, and Camryn Manheim, and "The Change Up" starring Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman, among others.
On television, Kenny can be seen as Attorney Joe Cummings in the Lifetime Network hit series "Drop Dead Diva," which is entering its fourth season this summer. His extensive television credits also include ABC Family's "Christmas Cupid," the Lifetime mini-series "Marry Me," USA Network's "Necessary Roughness," Lifetime's "Army Wives," Fox's "Prison Break," and Tyler Perry's "House of Payne" on TBS.
In addition to his acting career, Kenny has also made a name for himself as a co-host and "Barkitect" on the DIY Network and HGTV's "Barkitecture," a how-to show focused on designing doghouses. He has appeared in over 80 national and regional commercials and has performed on stage in his one-man shows and The Goods Variety Show, which he co-created.
Kenny is also the co-founder and principal owner of The Goods Brand, a Atlanta-based entertainment and clothing company founded in 1997. The company is built around the concept of self-belief and empowerment, which is reflected in its brand and products.
Kenny resides in Atlanta with his daughter, Jessy, and his long-time partner, actress Melissa Ponzio.
